What's a YachtXP Trip Like?

Sailing trips are pure adventure and adrenaline. Skipper Barry says, “It’s like being on a floating RV.” YachtXP trips are like camping on the water. We sail 3 - 6 hours a day, we anchor off incredible islands, some remote, some bustling cities. We cook meals together, share berths, help hoist the sails, and ultimately become a family. More importantly we have fun doing every single task, whether making coffee or ATV-ing across a mountain after we set anchor. It’s group experience unlike any other.

Do I need Sailing Experience?

You don’t! And you will definitely have opportunities to learn if you want to. A helpful and willing attitude goes a long way on these trips. When we make boat assignments, we try to pair experienced and non-experienced sailors together so everyone feels safe and well-taken care of. Plus your skipper is experienced at fun and sailing! The vast majority of trip skippers are certified by either the American Sailing Association or another internationally recognized organization.

Do you SCUBA Dive during the trip?

Yes! Weather permitting for those who are interested we will coordinate a dive with a local dive company.

img

Are formal sailing lessons available?

Yes! Based upon interest, we are able to offer certified US Sailing courses during the trip.

img

What About Kite Boarding or Wind Surfing? Or Maybe a Dinghy Regatta?

Yes! Based upon our destination, we will coordinate with local companies who will offer the opportunity to experience as much as possible!

What's Included?

What’s included in your trip can vary. We always offer the option to fully provision and handle everything for you—however, whether these costs are included depends on the specific trip. Please review the trip details or ask us to confirm.

Who's on What Boat?

When selecting a boat, you have the option to reserve an entire boat, a cabin or half of a cabin. Each boat sleeps up to 12 people. If you have a group of six or larger, we encourage you to reserve your own boat. This allows us to ensure your group is together. Worried your friends won't sign up? As long as there is still room, we can swap you to an entire boat once you've all signed up. Want to reserve a boat but need to split across multiple people? Contact us and we'll get it setup!

Yacht Deposits

Every boat is required to put down a refundable deposit before we set sail. YachtXP will place a hold onto each credit card based upon the total deposit. If there are any damages to the yacht, the damages are split equally among the crew.

img

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel more than 120 days out, you can put your deposit towards another YachtXP trip within one calendar year. We strongly recommend travel insurance in case of any unexpected scenarios.

How does the Itinerary Work?

We define the itinerary based on the weather. Nothing is guaranteed when Mother Nature controls the schedule. It is for your ultimate safety that we keep a suggested itinerary, and adjust as needed. On occasion a boat may deviate from the group if an anchorage is full or they need more provisions.

img

Are Flights Included?

Flights are not covered in the trip cost. It is up to you to book and arrive on time.

img

Can I Update my Instagram Daily?

Yes! The majority, but not all, of the islands we visit have cell reception. When we are sailing we may not have cell service.

img

How do Meals work?

Each boat is responsible for provisioning and cooking for themselves. We’ll provide menu suggestions and cooking guidelines to make it easier, and we do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. If you prefer, you can optionally hire a YachtXP crew member to assist with cooking and cleaning.
