St Vincent & the Grenadines

Caribbean • Saint Vincent & The Grenadines

YachtXP: St Vincent & The Grenadines

Trip Dates
Start: Tue, Mar 24orStart: Fri, Mar 27End: Sat, Apr 4

Arrive on Tuesday or Friday. Trip wraps on Saturday, April 4 — timed for same-day flights out.

Warm trades, turquoise water, and postcard anchorages — Mustique, Mayreau, Tobago Cays, Bequia — capped by a smooth finish in Union Island.

Two ways to join, one shared adventure: If you’ve got the PTO, hop aboard the Option A prelude in Martinique on Tue, Mar 24. Otherwise, meet the crew at our unified start on Fri, Mar 27 in Saint Vincent (Option B).

Important: Regardless of where you board, everyone is together from Friday, March 27 in Saint Vincent onward. The remainder of the itinerary is the same for all guests, ending in Saint Vincent.

We’ve built in a full marina night in Saint Vincent for easy arrivals, shore power, showers, dinner ashore, and provisioning. We also recommend an additional stop in Canouan to break up passages with pristine reefs and calm bays.

Iconic Anchorages:
Mustique’s moorings and Basil’s Bar, Mayreau’s Saltwhistle Bay, turtle-packed Tobago Cays, and Bequia’s easygoing charm.
Unified Start:
The whole group sails together from Fri, Mar 27 in Saint Vincent. Option A (Marin prelude) is just extra time on the water for those who can make it.
Adventure + Comfort:
Snorkel reefs, beach hop, kite Union’s flats, or unwind in marinas with showers, shore power, and restaurants.
Relaxed Friendly Pace:
Mostly 2–5 hr legs with swim stops. The Saint Vincent marina night adds a convenient midtrip reset.
What’s Included:
Charter fee only. Excludes provisioning, fuel, park/mooring fees (e.g., Tobago Cays), customs/immigration, and optional activities.
Where do we end
Final morning is back in St Vincent — there’s no return to Marina du Marin. Pack reef-safe sunscreen, a light spray jacket for trades, and a soft-sided duffel.

Flying to Saint Vincent (SVD): Direct & Caribbean Hop Options

There are two easy ways to reach St. Vincent (SVD) for the trip. The first is to fly direct from select cities in the United States & Canada. The second—often just as smooth—is to fly to a nearby Caribbean hub like Barbados (BGI), Grenada (GND), Trinidad (POS), or Antigua (ANU) and take a short regional hop (the classic “puddle jumper”) into SVD.

Below is a quick guide so you can choose the routing that fits your home airport, budget, and schedule.

Direct to SVD (US & Canada)
Nonstop service to St. Vincent (SVD) typically operates from New York (JFK) and Miami (MIA) in the US and Toronto (YYZ) in Canada. These routes are often seasonal and day-of-week dependent, with higher frequency around peak travel periods. If you’re near these gateways—or can position easily—this is usually the fastest and most stress-free option.
Caribbean Hop + Short Flight
Another popular approach is to fly into a nearby hub such as Barbados (BGI), Grenada (GND), Trinidad (POS), or Antigua (ANU) and connect on a short regional flight to SVD. Flight times on the final leg are typically ~30–60 minutes airborne. This path often opens more schedules and fare options, especially from major US/EU cities.
Timing & Connection Strategy
When using a Caribbean hub, aim to land by early afternoon so you can comfortably make the last waves of flights into SVD. Build in 2–3 hours for connections when tickets are on separate itineraries. If your inbound lands late, consider a planned overnight at the hub and enjoy a relaxed morning hop to SVD.
Baggage & Ticketing Tips
If all flights are on one ticket, bags usually interline to SVD. On separate tickets, you may need to claim & re-check at the hub—leave extra time. Regional planes can be smaller; keep carry-ons light and check size/weight rules for the puddle-jumper segment.
When to Book & Typical Fares
For best pricing and availability, book 6–12 weeks ahead for shoulder dates and earlier for holidays. From the US East Coast, economy fares commonly band in the mid-hundreds to low-thousands depending on season and lead time. Watch weekend patterns; Friday/Saturday often carry more nonstop and hub options.
Group Help & Charters
If your crew’s arrival times cluster at a Caribbean hub, we can help coordinate a shared charter for the final hop to SVD. It’s efficient, scenic, and can simplify baggage and timing. This is likely cheaper than expected but more expensive than a commercial flight.
Airport Codes: SVD (St. Vincent), BGI (Barbados), GND (Grenada), POS (Trinidad), ANU (Antigua), MIA (Miami), YYZ (Toronto).
Sample Routings: NYC → BGI → SVD • Chicago → MIA → SVD • Toronto → SVD (nonstop, seasonally) • London → BGI → SVD.
Pro Tip: If you’re mixing separate tickets, try to keep the hub change on the same island/airport to avoid ferrying between airports.
Seat Strategy: On regional aircraft, front/mid-cabin deplanes faster—handy for tight connections.
